The Arthritis Society 10K Classic

There is a run and walk on July 16th starting at 0900 at Rotary Park pavilion along the Ajax Waterfront. I hope you are able to participate. It’s a 10K and 5K distance, and your can run or walk either distance. The runners start at 0900 and the walkers start at 0930. I am also having a 1K kids fun run starting at 1030.

Rotary Park has a fully accessible splash pad and playground for the kids.
There will be lots of port-a-potties, benches, and garbage cans for your convenience and comfort.

See this link to register online via the Running Room site. Please send the site along to other runners who may be interested in a great family day.

There will also be nutritious post-race food and water stations.
Brochures are available at the Pickering and Whitby Running Room stores.
Race kits can be picked up at the Pickering Running Room (see this link for dates and times of pick up). If you are unable to pick up your race kit prior to the event, please email me and I will ensure a pick for you on race day.

Don't get bugged

Don't forget to come out to the 5 Peaks Rattlesnake Point race this weekend and more importantly don't forget the bug spray.

The mosquitoes have been brutal this year, especially the last couple of weeks and it doesn't seem to matter what time of day you're out, they will get you.

Another good idea is to apply sunscreen when you run and don't forget your shoulders, neck and ears. Wear a hat to keep the sun off and the sweat out of your eyes.

Keep running and run protected!
