Changes to the Boot Camp Program

We've made some changes to our Boot Camp program based on the feedback from our customers. Click Here to see the posting with all the changes.

We've now priced it in conjunction with our Around the Bay and Mississauga Marathon programs so the price you see is the price for BOTH the Tuesday and Thursday training. As always the Sunday Club runs are free for everybody and a great way to get your long mileage in.

Don't forget we love your feedback so keep it coming. You can send it to myself at Tony@hittheroadrunning.com or Ken at Ken@hittheroadrunning.com

Last Sunday's run and Tuesday night Training

Sunday's Run

What a great turnout on Sunday for our Club Run. We toured around the scenic neighbourhood of West Shore in Pickering south. Ten kilometers never felt so good.

Do you like running with a group? Just a reminder that Sunday Club runs are open to everyone, so why not come out and run with us? All you have to do is check the website here for this week's run and distance, then show up ready to run at 8am. This week we have no Sunday club run but if you are looking to run why not use the comments section and see if anyone else would be willing to join you?

Your comments are valuable to us. Be interactive with the website. Post your comments about what you like and what you would like to see from us at Hit the Road Running. It takes only a few seconds and you can post anonymously.

Tuesday night training

Every Tuesday night until the middle of January I am offering free group training sessions at the Oshawa Civic Dome. We meet at 7pm for an hour of light cardio, stretching and core strength work. I am also taking people through some basics in Biomechanics and Plyometrics. If you are thinking of taking the boot camp training in January this is a good primer and preview for that series of training. Come out and have a good time sweating with some friends.

Keep on Running

Winter Storm - A Bust

You call that a storm?

Congratulations? To those who braved the cold stormy conditions last night and made it to the clinic. A few of us even made it out for a run (one of us in snowshoes) in the ankle and knee-deep snow and slush. I tried out a pair of ice cleats last night and they worked fairly well given the conditions. I'll try them again when it gets really icy.

Only one clinic night left before the big race. Remember that now is the time to get some extra rest, eat more healthily, and listen to your body when it tells you to stop overdoing it (like running twice in one day!). This Saturday is the early kit and vest pickup for the race. If you don't want to risk not getting your size on race day, It might be worth the drive to Hamilton (ew, did I just say something positive about Hamilton?).

I hope to see everyone on Sunday for our group run! Tony will not be there this Sunday, so I will be your sole (soul?) support unless I get some volunteers?

Seacrest OUT!

Winter Storm

If you haven't already left, I'd suggest you do not come out to the clinic tonight. The roads are very dangerous.

Weekend races

Just a couple of weekend events to let you know about.

Saturday our very own Richard will be running in the first (and probably last) Speedo run through the streets of downtown Toronto. Feel free to head down there and 'support' him. All the proceeds for this event go to the Hospital for Sick Children. I hear they will be doing jumping jacks as a warm up!

Sunday is the Snowflake run at Rotary Park in Ajax. It's still not too late to enter, the race entry is an new unwrapped toy for a child or teen. Also there is a potluck afterwards. It promises to be a fun morning and the toys will go to less fortunate kids for Christmas. Registration is at 9, the race is at 10. Potluck is at 11.

Both are very worthwhile causes which warrant your support so go out, have some fun and actually feel good about it the next day!
