Good luck to our program participants who are taking part in the Run for the Toad this weekend. 25 or 50K of trail running sounds like a lot of fun but not a walk in the park.
Our Road Run this Sunday will be along the well traveled Pickering Waterfront. A nice and easy recovery 10K followed by some coffee and tales of everyone's races.
Our upcoming programs are now finalized and posted. We have an excellent location for these programs at Fletcher Chiropractic in Pickering so when the weather starts to turn cold we will not have to stand around at the track shivering.
Also, program participants will receive discounts at Yoga classes with 'Run with Spirit' and also on merchandise at 'Running Free'. Participants will also be receiving a free Hit The Road T-shirt!
If you're interested in any of the programs offered feel free to contact us. If you have family or friends looking for a training program, please let them know about us.
Only one week away from the Pickering Pub Run which is looking like it will be a great event. Come out and have some fun, bring all your friends and, who knows, you may even win some prizes.
Keep Running...
Tony

Post Race Day Posting
Scotia Waterfront Marathon Weekend
Congratulations to all those who participated in yesterday's races. It seems that some of us had good races and some of us had bad races. While everyone in the clinic finished the race, some had cramping and stomach issues while some were just victims of the humidity.
It was great to see all the cheering and support that there was out there for our group. Kudos to all those spectators who just came to cheer. It is going to be great hearing all your race stories and to celebrate your accomplishments.
For those who are done training and for those who are still anticipating their race day, we will still be meeting this Tuesday night for our workout at the regular place and time.

Race day preparation
As your race approaches it's more important than ever to rest up and prepare properly.
For the next couple of days you will want to keep off your feet and eat well, get lots to drink (no alcohol or caffeine...Sorry) and keep away from sick people like Ken. Sick people like Tony are not as risky to your race performance unless you see me in the crowd wearing a kilt!
The race expo is not as huge as the ones in Chicago, Cincinnati or even Ottawa but try to limit the amount of walking around you do, especially if you go on Saturday.
The next couple of days is not the time to try the new Thai place or anything new for that matter.
Try to get a good night sleep for the next couple of days because you probably won't on Saturday night (I have all your phone numbers and will be making crank calls, just to make sure).
For those of you who are planning on meeting up on Sunday before the race, we will be meeting at the fountain in Metro Square that has the flame. If you are running alone or just don't like the rest of us (you know who you are), have a great race and most importantly.....enjoy yourself.

Upcoming Race - Run for Fyre
I know everyone is busy planning for the next couple of weekends but I'd like you all to think slightly past the next couple of weeks.
Coming up on Thanksgiving Monday, October 10th is the annual Run for Fyre in Whitby. This is a local 5K in support of Muscular Dystrophy Canada and the Whitby Ice Fyre syncronized skating team.
The runs organizers were great in supporting Hit The Road by allowing us to run a training program for this event and I hope you all can help them make the event a success by signing up and running.
This year they have expanded their prizes and the runners gift bags are bigger and better than ever (and I hear they were good last year).
For all the information on the event click here. What better way to work off that excess turkey!!
